How to Make Furry Boot Covers (Fluffies)

A lot of people have been asking about these so I decided to make a tutorial. Lay out the furry fabric on the ground and place your boot on top of it. Trace around the boot so that you have a shape similar to below.

Fold the fabric in half so that the fur is touching on the inside (the non furry part with your outline is on the outside), and cut along the lines you drew. Repeat this step again so that you have 4 shapes like below.

Match two of the pieces together and pin them, using longer pins is better because the fabric is thick.

Sew the fabric along the side two edges, leaving about an inch at the top un-sewn. Fold the top of the boot cover over and trim off some of the fur at the end. Hand stitch the edge of the folded over part.

Measure enough elastic to fit around right under your knee and drag the elastic through the holes you left un-stitched at the top of the boot cover. Sew the elastic together once its all the way through.

If you want to make boot covers over shoes and not boots, you can use the same shape but cut off the platform part.

Materials Needed: Furry Fabric (1/2 yard to 3/4 yard wide 2 yards long for platform boots), pair of boots, elastic, needle and thread, sewing machine, scissors

Inspiration: I basically make a new pair of these with every outfit I make and you should to!

You can definitely just wear normal shoes under them. Just leave off the space for the platform so the overall shape should look like a triangle and not have the box shaped area at the bottom to fit the platform.

Could you be a tad more specific about the elastic part? I’m not really understanding your explanation of how/where to attach it, but I really wanna make these.
