This is one method of making a tutu. You will use strips of different colors of tulle to create a multi colored effect. Take your tulle and cut it so that the width is about twice as long as you want the length of the tutu, then lay all of the tulle on top of each other.

Next roll the all the tulle into a cylinder

The finished cylinder should look like the picture below.

Cut the cylinder into strips about 1.5-2 inches thick.

Unroll one of the strips and you will have a bunch of pieces that you will use to make your tutu. Take the first strip and lay it over the ribbon or elastic (whichever you prefer to use).

Now loop the top part of the strip that is laying on top of the ribbon over the ribbon.

Now place the two ends of the ribbon through the opening created by the top of the strip and the ribbon so that the strip is attached to the ribbon.

You can create a pattern by using multiple colors. For this example i did one yellow, two pink….

If you are using elastic to attache the tulle strips to you would attach the elastic together by sewing it, for the rubbon you just tie.

Materials Needed: Tulle (about 2 yards but more if you want the tutu to be longer), ribbon or elastic, scissors
